What is Alka® Bath?

In many cultures, bathing is a pleasant tradition, a meaningful ritual or a luxury. Bathing is a combination of peace, comfort and warmth. Three things that are becoming increasingly rare in our everyday lives.

Alka® Bath is a special bath salt for enjoying deacidifying full, hand or foot baths. The very rich mineral formula of Alka® Bath gives the bath water an optimal alkaline value of approx. pH 8.5. This gives your skin a deep cleansing. It promotes the removal of acidic waste and stimulates the production of new healthy skin cells. Your skin can breathe again and becomes wonderfully soft.

How does deacidification with Alka® Bath work?

By adding Alka® Bath to your bath water, the water receives an alkaline value of about pH 8.5. The acidic waste materials in your body are transported through the skin through osmotic pressure from the inside to the outside. The acidic waste materials on the skin are neutralized by the alkaline bath water. When the old, acidified skin surface is neutralized with Alka® Bath, the regulating effect of your sebaceous glands can provide a new, optimal build-up of the lowest layer of fat.

Alka® Bath also contains a soothing amount of essential mineral and trace elements that are absorbed through the skin. Your skin receives a deep cleansing and can breathe again.

Why is alkaline skin care important?

The pH of our skin is always slightly acidic, but why? Acidic waste materials leave our body partly through the skin. However, as the body becomes more and more acidified over the years, the natural skin regulation and the skin renewal process is disturbed. New skin cells mature too quickly or die too quickly. The skin overacidifies, dries out or becomes oily, which leads to skin complaints of all kinds.

Healthy people have an acidic skin surface with a pH of 5.5. This pH is much lower in people with acidic bodies. The epidermis then becomes a breeding ground for pathogens. This causes all kinds of skin discomfort.

To prevent this, alkaline skin care products are used. Unlike other skin care products, which often have a pH value that is too low or too high, they contain an optimal pH value (between 7.5 and 8.5).

Deacidifying

Alkaline baths help the body excrete acid waste through the skin. By adding alkaline bath salts to your bath water, the water receives a pH of about pH 8.5. Excess acids in your body are transported through the skin from the inside to the outside by the osmotic pressure. The acidic deposits on the skin are neutralized, thereby restoring the regulating effect of the sebaceous glands.

Tip 1: The alkaline full bath

Enjoy the deacidifying effect of Alka® Bath with a warm full bath. Let your bath fill with warm water. The ideal temperature of the bath water is between 36 °C-39°C. After the bath is filled, add 3 scoops of Alka® Bath. Stir the bath water by hand so that the bath salts dissolve evenly.

In order to make the laxative effect work optimally, we recommend a bath duration of 30-60 minutes or longer. For a better result, brush the skin regularly during bathing to remove the waste materials and stimulate blood circulation. After the relaxing bath, gently dab your body with a towel.

Alka® Bath neutralizes the acidified layer of the epidermis and thus ensures that the acid mantle of your skin is optimally built up, thus making your skin resistant and supple.

During an intensive deacidification phase, you should take 3 to 4 full baths a week, after which 1 to 2 full baths are sufficient to support your acid-base balance.

Tip 2: The alkaline foot bath

Fill your foot bath with warm water (36 °C–39 °C). Add a scoop of Alka® Bath. Stir the water well by hand so that the bath salts dissolve evenly. Relax for 20–30 minutes or more. Brush your feet regularly to remove the waste materials and stimulate circulation. Enjoy the foot bath after a long day at work, a lot of running, or before going to bed.

During an intensive deacidification phase, you should try to take a foot bath every day, after which 3 to 4 foot baths a week are sufficient to support your acid-base balance.

Tip 3: The alkaline shower

Take a warm shower and cleanse your body with soap. After rinsing, rub your body with Alka® Bath. Each time, spread a small amount on your palm and scrub the body or parts of the body with it. After scrubbing, rinse briefly with warm water and let the skin dry.

We recommend that you take an alkaline shower 2 times a week to support and nourish your skin. We have developed Alka® Creme and Alka® Deo for an optimal alkaline skin care after the shower.

Tip 4: A blessing for your baby and child!

Use Alka® Bath also for the body care of baby and child. Add 1 scoop per 30 liters of water to the bath water at a temperature of 37 °C, stir the bath water by hand so that the bath salts dissolve evenly. Gently massage the baby's body with the alkaline water.

The alkaline water is very suitable for dry and irritated skin. For an optimal effect, the bath duration should be about 10 minutes. After bathing, wrap your child in a soft cloth to dry. The water of Alka® Bath is naturally gentle and does not irritate the eyes. You can care for and support the skin of your baby or child every 3rd day with an Alka® bath. We recommend 2 alkaline baths a week.

Tip 5: Alka^® Bath for your hair care

Through the process of hyperacidity, the body uses the alkaline minerals from the hair base to bind the acidic waste. By decreasing the supply of essential alkaline minerals from the hair roots, the hair loses elasticity and vitality. The hair can become brittle and this can lead to hair loss.

Add 1 teaspoon of Alka^® Bath to a bottle of water with a content of about 200 ml. Spray this solution regularly into your damp hair and massage it into the scalp. After that, we recommend that you rinse your hair with a natural conditioner. The mixture can be used up to 4 times a week. Due to the deacidifying and nourishing effect, you improve the condition of your hair.
